Our Founder & Director delivering our MHAW 2022 Workshop at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health
As part of our mission to improve the mental health and wellbeing of men across the UK, we have begun an ambitious plan to reach out to as many Universities across the UK to run engagement days.
University students often have some of the poorest mental health and wellbeing, with figures demonstrating levels of poor mental health almost 7 times what it was a decade ago for students.
Here at MWT, we passionately believe that working to support the next generation to improve their mental health and wellbeing not only creates huge benefits for those young people moving forward, but for all those they will come in contact with. We also know that it's more vital than ever to equip the next generation of professionals with knowledge and skills as to how to approach men's mental health.
Our engagement days involve various signposting and awareness raising events across campus, and can be uniquely tailored to the needs and interests of your university population.

On 24th November 2023 we were delighted to launch our new programme of engagement at Edge Hill University.
The MWT team spent the morning speaking with students and staff in the main Hub area, sharing information about MWT and raising the importance of men's mental health.
In just 90 minutes the team handed out almost 200 flyers and engaged with hundreds of students and staff.
Following the successful morning, our Founder and Director Sam delivered a guest lecture to the psychology students & members of the University careers team. The lecture focussed on the challenges men face with their mental health, some of the barriers to accessing services, how professionals can engage men in their services more and finally some of the challenges of charity work.
On 14th March 2024 (University Mental Health Day) Sam & Martins made the journey up to the beautiful Aberdeen - MWTs first venture into Scotland!
The team spoke to over 250 staff and students in the morning, talking about men's mental health, who we are and what we do, and the importance of wellbeing. In the afternoon Sam delivered a workshop for the Mental Health First Aiders at the University, before delivering a guest lecture to the Psychology students.
The team had a fantastic day in Aberdeen, and plans are already in the making for our return!
