Who are you?
Men Who Talk is a growing charity based in the UK. We have a team of volunteers and a trustee board.
Why did you set up MWT?
Men Who Talk was launched in recognition of the need for more spaces for men to talk openly about what is on their mind.
We offer less intensive spaces focussed around different specific topics, all in the hope that men will feel able to talk with other men.
Building representative services is a key way helping tackle stigma and increase trust, so we're proud that our organisation has been created with men at the very core of the focus.
What are the groups like?
We currently run weekly men's online support groups every month. Each group is a supportive space where men can come and talk about what's on their mind, listen to others who may be experiencing something similar, and just generally socialise.
Our groups are safe and inclusive spaces for all men across the UK. The groups can sometimes cover difficult or challenging topics, but can also cover lighter topics as well.
The best way to find out what our groups are really like is to come along to one. Our awesome volunteer facilitators will be there throughout to make sure the space is safe and supportive.
How much do your groups cost to attend?
Great news! All of our groups are completely free!
We strongly believe in trying to make our groups as easy to access as possible, and we know that money is a big barrier for many. So all of our groups are free, and will hopefully stay that way!
Who funds you?
We rely on a mixture of donations and revenue generated from our corporate workshops.
As we grow and develop, we will inevitably apply for funding and grants from other sources, but we are committed to being open and transparent about where we get our money from and how we spend it.
We're delighted that in April 2023 we received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, which will help us continue to provide high quality support for free.
