Bold Conversations, Real Change

This International Men’s Day, we’re challenging 100 people to raise £100 each — will you step up?

Men talk campaigns

Why This Matters

Every year, over 6,500 lives are lost to suicide in the UK, and 75% of them are men. Traditional services miss the mark for many, but Men Who Talk is changing that.

We create simple, stigma-free spaces where men can support each other through honest conversation, no therapy, no pressure, just real talk.

The Challenge

We’re rallying 100 people to each raise £100 between now and International Men’s Day on Wednesday 19th November.

Whether you join the team or support one of our fundraisers, you’ll help us expand our reach and create more spaces where men feel heard, valued, and supported.

Your Impact

Your support means more men get the opportunity to join our groups, to open up, and feel less alone. From tackling loneliness to reducing suicide, your contribution fuels grassroots change and builds a future where more men ask for help, and get it.

The Statistics

6,500
registered suicides each year

75%
of which are men

3x
as many men die by suicide each year compared to women

Only 36%
of referrals for talking therapies are for men

Almost 75%
of adults who go missing are men.

87%
of rough sleepers are men

Men are nearly 3x
as likely as women to become dependent on alcohol and three times as likely to report frequent drug use

Men are 1.5X
more likely to be victims of violent crime

Men are more likely to be compulsorily detained (or ‘sectioned’) for treatment than women

Men make up the vast majority of the prison population. There are high rates of mental health problems and increased rates of self-harm in prisons

The Pressure Men Carry

For many men, poor mental health is part of daily life.

We’re told to be strong, successful, and unemotional but that pressure takes its toll.

Even when men want support, they’re often met with services that don’t feel safe, welcoming or built for them.

It’s time for a different approach.

“I felt safe in the group, it was warm and supportive. The other men were open and showed vulnerability.”

Men Who Talk creates simple, stigma-free spaces where men support each other through conversation, not counselling, not therapy, just honest chat.

Founded to tackle the gaps traditional services miss, we use the power of peer support to break down barriers, boost connection, and show that asking for help is not a weakness, but a strength.
